This Privacy Policy explains how CleverOwl Solutions Ltd ("InsightSquirrel", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use the InsightSquirrel website and platform. We are committed to handling personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are

2. Two roles: controller and processor
When you sign up for and use InsightSquirrel as a customer, we act as a data controller for your account information. When you build a quiz and collect responses from your own audience, you are the data controller for those respondents' personal data and InsightSquirrel acts as a data processor, handling that data on your instructions.
3. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, company details and billing information when you create an account or start a trial.
- Quiz & lead data: the questions, answers, scores and contact details that you and your respondents enter into quizzes you build.
- Usage data: log data, device and browser information, and analytics about how the service is used.
- Cookies: essential cookies to run the service, and (with consent) analytics cookies.
4. How we use personal data
- To provide, operate and improve the InsightSquirrel platform.
- To process trials, subscriptions and payments.
- To provide support and send service-related communications.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
5. Legal bases
We rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the service), legitimate interests (to run and secure our business), consent (for optional marketing and non-essential cookies), and legal obligation (for tax and accounting).
6. Sharing and sub-processors
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run InsightSquirrel (for example hosting, database, email delivery and payment processing) under appropriate contracts, and where required by law. We do not sell personal data.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for any period required by law. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
8. Your rights (UK GDPR)
If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Where InsightSquirrel acts as a processor for quiz responses you collect, requests from those individuals should be directed to you as the controller; we will assist you in responding.
9. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.
